Thanks! This was very helpful.

By the way, I did meet with this person today, and while with him, I called the bank to see if they offered the service. They do AND there is a fee! He decided to work with me instead, and told me he was more comfortable with our arrangement.

Barbara - You raise a great point, and I love your idea for the article. You're right, it's really tough to get someone to pay for something he or she can get for free. You know this better than I do, but I'm guessing your clients ultimately hire you because you take responsibility, and not because you can perform the same tasks as a free service.

When your clients can mentally check these concerns off of their list, so to speak, then their peace of mind is assured. A free service, although it can mechanically perform the same things, is simply not able to take ownership of these functions like you and other Daily Money Managers.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your input! Much appreciated.
Something came up this week that I would like your thoughts on as well as other WWE members. I presented at an assisted living facility this week on Daily Money Management, and talked about how to organize finances as well as tips to protect against Identity theft and Scams. I brought handouts as well. Not a large audience but someone did ask to speak with me afterwards, and we scheduled an initial appt. to discuss helping with his bank reconciliation. The organizer of the event (after he was gone) indicated that he was not "smart or educated" and questioned why he needed "to pay for something he could get for free" since banks often do this for their customers. I told her people have different reasons for using my services, but if anything, I would be the first to encourage him to utilize services that were no charge if that was more important for his situation. So Q might be "Why do I need to pay for a Daily Money Manager if I can get those services for free" A would be a listing of top 3-4 reasons why ie. confidentiality, I'm working for the client, and bank is not going to question expenses, etc. So, I wondered if others had this issue or questioned paying for services we offer.
Thanks!

Barbara - great thoughts! I really like your ideas for topics. They're both relevant and palatable. Relevant in the sense that they're important questions (especially to your customer demographic), and palatable because the titles tell me I'll be educated in bite-sized chunks (4 ways to prevent & 3 top scams). With a nominal investment of time, your readers (or video watchers) will learn what's important to them very quickly.

Just let us know how else we can help. Again, great questions!

My first blog post answers the question "What is a Daily Money Manager?" I'd like to follow up with a video of what I do, but that's a bit intimidating to me. (Also, maybe not too interesting).I have blog ideas for the next 12 months (2x month) as recommended by my business coach, but I'm just figuring out how to download photos, and the idea of video or audio is overwhelming. Some hot topics in my work include Identity theft, fraud, scams against older folks. So maybe a Q would be: 4 ways to prevent Identity theft, or What are the 3 top scams against seniors? Is this in line with what you're talking about? Thanks for offering this forum! I'm excited to hear what others are doing on their websites and blogs.
